Tax increment financing (TIF)

I’ve heard from another watchdog in another District 200.  This one in McHenry county. She has documented how TIF districts raise taxes of everyone else.  The concept applies everywhere.

Tax increment financing (TIF) is a public financing method used to revitalize an area.  The property tax money from each TIF area goes back into that area to subsidize redevelopment, infrastructure, and other community-improvement projects. Thus the tax money is not available for the general community including schools.
